The past weeks
Scouting for Food had a great turnout, with Troop 15 coming up with 38% of Merrimack’s donations.
The Beaver Brook campout this past weekend went (mostly) well. The shelter building went as planned, however, next time the speakers will be better prepared. The Webelos had a lot of fun, and really liked the Capture the Flag game. For the boys who put wood in front of the cabin door, they were spoken to and it won’t happen again. The only other problem was when Mrs. Gausch asked for some help, and it took a while before anyone stood up to do it. A Scout is helpful, so next time anybody asks you for something, do it. Next year, the Troop is thinking of doing a turkey roast, and, as announced at the PLC, Dylan and Dan get exclusive rights to the older boys’ cabin.
Upcoming events
At the next Troop meeting (12/3), we will possibly be doing knots or an A-Frame build/relay.
On 12/10 is the preparation for the lean-to campout. We will be instructed by Nate on how to build a fire using frozen wood. We will then have to burn through a provided wooden dowel.
12/17 is a holiday party. Everyone will need to bring a donation of food. Kyle will get word on what the food pantry needs so we know what to bring. We will be having faith discussions to do with the holiday season. Mr. Noyovitz will give a talk about Judaism, and Mr. Lester and Kyle will talk about Christianity. We will follow that with a game of musical chairs.
On January second, Kevin Pesinski will have his Eagle Court of Honor. Nate will be the M.C. in honor of his brother.
We will be having O.A elections sometime soon, and need nominees who will actually go through with the ordeal.

At this PLC, we discussed what each patrol is currently doing. The Falcons are switching Assistant Scout Masters from Mr. Pelletier to Mr. DeBeradinis. They might be changing their meeting place as well. They are also starting the Family Life and Personal Management merit badges.
The Border Patrol is possibly doing an indoor rock climbing trip. They will also get going on a variety of Eagle-Required merit badges.
The Shaguars don’t have much of a plan, but have made many advancements. Luke Bradish and David Muse got Eagle earlier this year, and Matt Johnston, Tyler Worthy, and Eric Lester on their way to getting it as well.
The Fighting Bulls, unfortunately, have no written plan as of yet.
At the camporee this past weekend, three people got soaked. Hopefully, next time they will be better prepared. Also, the Chick Magnets (the Falcons and Borders put together) won third place in a first aid course and first place in an orienteering course.
On November first is the Scouting for food bag drop off, and on the eighth is the pick-up.
November 21-23 is the Beaver Brook campout in Hollis. Food is by Patrol. Chris D. and Nate will instruct on how to build a proper shelter out in the wilderness using what you can find.
